Learning Bank 11- Making the most of community resources and field trips

I learned from lesson 11 that field trip has an advantage and disadvantage to us because field trip offer us educational benefits and it is can be fun but sadly to know joining a field trip is very expensive and it requires much time for preparation and planning. Planning for the field trip it includes decision and discussion first the objectives of the field trip and should be included the permit slip given to parents, second what we are going to do during and after the field trip. I also learned that community resources can be also a person and it is likely historical places, place of exhibits, scenic spot. Those can also be community learning resources it is where the students can go research and learn.

I can apply my learning's to my choosen field by having a field trip once a year when I am become a teacher someday because having a field trip the students can get educational benefits from this and it can make the students to have fun and to enjoy learning.

Learning Bank 10- Demonstration in Teaching

I learned from lesson 10 that Demonstration defines in teaching it is showing how a athing is done and emphasizing of the salient merits, utility and effeciency  of a concept, a method or a process. We should plan or prepare when we are conducting demonstration to ensure that the demonstration works effectively. And when we are conducting demonstration we should determine our objectives, the materials we need and our steps, and we should prepared our students. In actual conducting demonstration we should: 1. keep students interest 2. demonstrate simple 3. do not hurry your demonstration 4. Summarize and give a conclusion.

I can apply my learning's to my choosen field by planning and preparing when I am conducting demonstration in the classroom to ensure that it works effectively and to understand more by my students of what I mean in a particular topic and during the demonstration it is not expensive anymore because I can use any kind of materials inside the classroom . And when I am in actual conducting demonstration I will determine my objectives , the materials should be ready, I will keep my students interest, make it simple, I will not hurry my demonstration, and I will make a summary and conclusion.

Leraning Bank 9- Teaching with Dramatized Experience

I learned from lesson 9 that Dramatic means it is something affecting or moving. Dramatized Experience includes formal plays, pageants, tableau, pantomime, puppets, and role-playing. I also learned that according to Dale (1996) puppets are a very effective in teaching because it cannot elaborate scenery/costume and it can present with extreme simplicity. There are 5 most common types of puppets this are shadow puppets, rod puppets, hand puppets, glove and finger puppet and marionettes. I also learn that if our teaching is dramatic our students get interested to our discussion because they are affected and moved by what we taught.

I can apply my learning's to my choosen field by using dramatic experience in teaching so that my students will be affected and interested to my discussion not only to make them interested but also to develop their multiple intelligence.

Learning Bank 8- Teaching with contrived experiences

I learned from this lesson that contrived experience can be use and it is also very important in teaching because it is prepared substitute for a real things so that it will create a real representation and make the students to understand more. Contrived experience include the model, mock-up, specimen, objects ( it use in teaching to understand more by the students) simulation and games ( are use to motivate the students and to become the classes interactive and to develop their decision-making skills ).

I can apply my learning's to my choosen field by using contrived experience as instructional materials in teaching my students specially when I am in teaching a science subject I will use the "model" of planet and "mock-up" the arrangement of planet so that they can understand more about the lesson I am going to discuss but before that I will motivate first my student by playing a game so that they will not got bored if I will start my discussion.

Learning Bank 7- Direct, purposeful experiences and beyond

I learned from lesson 7 that indirect/ vicarious experiences are experience of others like seeing in the movie or hear about it the opposite of this is direct experience and this are serve as the foundation of learning because we learn a lot through our own self-experience. I also learned that direct experience are purposeful experience because it is undergone in relation to a purpose of learning and this can be also use as an instructional materials in teaching.

I can apply my learning's to my choosen field by reminding my students that dierct experience must not be the end and must brought this to higher plane because this will help them to learn a lot and when I am in teaching I will use direct experience as an instructional materials and if they don't have this kind of experience I will use indirect experience so that they have an idea about the lesson I am going to discuss.

Learning Bank 6- Using and evaluating instructional materials

I learned from lesson 6 that using an instructional materials is to attain the learning objectives and the effective use of instructional materials are not only by field trip but also the selection of materials and proper use of materials. I also learned that Hayden Smith advise the teacher to know the meaning of acronym PPPF it is said that the teacher should know her/his learning objective. motivate her students so that he/she can get the attention of the students, no need to present an expensive materials but make sure that using the best materials like magazine. newspaper and etc. is enough.

I can apply my learning's to my choosen field by motivating my students so that I can get their attention and I will make sure that I will attain the learning objectives of my lesson so that I can use instructional materials effectively if I'll become a teacher someday.

Learning Bank 5- The cone of experience

I learned from lesson 5 that sensory experience are mixed and interrelated because students learn by using their 5 senses: seeing, hearing, touching, tasting and smelling. Dale's cone of experience says that the teaching-learning process are learning by doing, the students cannot understand until the teacher did not show them how. I also learned that when teaching it is not stuck in the concrete instead letting students strive to the symbolic/abstract to develop their high thinking skills.

I can apply my learning's to my choosen field by applying of Dale's cone experience in teaching-learning process  and letting my students in a future to dramatize, demonstrate and etc. because I believe  learning is by doing.
